Popcorn Express opened for business in 1999 by owner
Charles "Chuck" Izumoto. He started off popping on
weekends at the Niu Valley Shopping Center where he
had a steady following of loyal customers. He innovated
the idea of coloring kettle corn which became an instant
hit! Valentines, Easter, Halloween and Christmas had
their own custom colored popcorn.
The company continues today under owner Duane
Tanaka, long time neighbor to Chuck. Duane continues
with Chuck's recipe and cooking style that results with
the same delicious kettle corn people enjoyed over the
years.
